Steve Abbott Returns to
St. Andrew’s This Weekend

Steve Abbott will speak at the following events:

The Rev. Dr. Steve Abbott is senior minister at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, West Pennant Hills, Sydney, Australia. He is also involved with Leighton Ford Ministries, Charlotte N.C., as a member of the Point Group, an international group of evangelists and church leaders. Abbott is a former lecturer at Ridley (Theological) College in Melbourne and a former consultant with Evangelism Ministries of Sydney Diocese.

  • Tuesdays 6:30 pm The Lawrenceburg Home Group, led by Richard Wolfe, will be meeting at Tonya Gregory's home for fellowship and to study Revolution of Character, by Dallas Willard. For more information, contact Richard Wolfe at 502-598-9621 or Tonya Gregory at 502-396-3270.

  • Wednesdays 7:30 pm Senior High Guys Bible Study at the Brannens home. Contact the church office at 859-873-2092 for more info.

  • Wednesdays 6:30 pm Senior High Girls will meet for pizza and Bible Study at the McLaughlins' home in Lexington. For more info, contact Melinda McLaughlin at 224-0165.

  • Thursdays11:30 am Lunch & Bible Study, 12:30 Bible Study at the church office. Currently studying the book of Acts. Come join us for a pot-luck lunch at 11:30 and/or Bible study at 12:30. For more info. call Pat Ewing at 873-3886 or Margaret Riddle at 873-4919.

  • Thursdays 6-8 pm Home Group for Parents meets at the home of Norm and Susie Galloway in Lexington. Dinner is available for the parents and a babysitter is available for children (please feed children before they come). Please call Norm or Susie Galloway at 254-2733 for more information.

Sound Seminar

Small Group Leaders Meeting
To all who are currently leading a small group and/or would like to consider starting a small group this fall: You are asked to attend a dinner meeting from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 4 at the home of Chris and Rachel Millard in Versailles. Please RSVP to Chris at 859-492-2793

Pastor’s Briefing
Plan to join pastor David Brannen  Sunday during the Education Hour for his monthly briefing. Ugandan Gold coffee will also be available for purchase during that hour.
May 4-10 Church Office Hours
In order for the staff to have time away from the office this week to plan and pray, the church office will be open the following hours only:
Monday: 9-5
Tues, Wed, Thurs: 10-1
Friday: 9-5
If you have a pastoral emergency during off hours, please call David Brannen at 312-8851, otherwise, leave a message on the office phone and someone will return your call the next day.

Ladies Luncheon
Our May Ladies Luncheon is at noon on May 6 at “Roots” on Romany Rd. in Chevy Chase. Please call Sylvia Folk(335-9078) or Doris Couzens(266-4044) by May 5 if you can attend.

Men’s Breakast
The May Men’s Breakfast will be held at 9:30 a.m., Sat.,May 10 at the Versailles Baptist Church.

Woodford County Food Drive
Saturday, May 10 marks the annual food drive to benefit the Hope Ministries Food Pantry. If you live in Woodford County, be sure to put non-perishable food in, or hang a bag of food on, your mailbox that Saturday. Your postal carrier will pick it up and transport it to the post office where it will be collected and taken to the Food Pantry. The Food Pantry helped 445 families in 2007 and has already helped 280 since January of this year. The need for donations is great. Thank you for contributing.

Danville Fellowship

Office Cleaning Day This month’s office cleaning day has been moved to Friday, May 16 from 1-4 p.m. Please come help us, even if you have just an hour to spare! Help is welcome throughout the morning as well. Thank you.

This month’s Ladies Night Out will be held at 6:30 p.m., Tues., May 20, at the Tavern at Beaumont Inn in Harrodsburg. Please call Katey Meares at 873-5613 for reservations, directions or for assistance with a ride.

Anglican Men’s Retreat
Men, you are invited to attend the East Coast Men’s Retreat May 30-June 1 at the Clarion Resort in Shepardstown, WV. The theme is “Courage: At home, in the family, in the workplace and in the Church.” The speakers include Bishops Guernsey, Bena and Minns and the Rev. John Yates. The cost is $195/participant and registration will be available online on a first come-first served basis beginning April 6. Click here for more info.
