Middle and Senior High Youth

We use a team-based approach to middle and senior high youth ministry that is anchored by parents and other adult lay volunteers. The youth meet from 6-8 p.m. every Sunday for dinner, Bible study and fellowship.

Currently we are using “The Absolute Basics of the Christian Faith” as their guide for Bible study. Our Youth Renovation Team is working toward the completion of a three-year rotation plan for faith formation with middle and high school students.

We also offer confirmation to young people approximately every two years. In preparing for confirmation, each student is paired with an adult mentor who walks with him or her through a journey of discipleship and Bible study.

Ask-Anything Videos

For our Ask-Anything Event , we recorded short responses to questions submitted by our youth.

Can the devil hear our prayers?

What does “spiritual” mean?

In response to spiritual disciplines: How long will it take to start seeing results?

Do you have to get married?

How do you minister to someone who has rejected the faith without shoving it at them?

How can I strengthen my connection to God?

When a loved one goes to heaven (e.g., wife, family, girlfriend), will they remember you or will they go on to live in paradise and not remember you at all?

If you get into a car accident and the other person dies, will you go to hell?

Silence and Solitude

This video is not in response to a question but addresses the spiritual discipline (holy habit) of Silence and Solitude, which we talked about last Sunday. This is a great video by one of my favorite Catholic commentators on theology and society. Well worth your time (but take the comments about Mary being our great intercessor with a grain of salt).
