About the COVID-19 Challenge

Easter – April 17, 2020

Dear friends,

When I learned that my wife, Claire, and I could expect to receive $2400 from the U.S. Government’s recent Coronavirus Relief Bill, I realized how blessed we are. We do not need those funds right now–we may in the future, but not today. Some of our neighbors aren’t so fortunate. Many have lost incomes due to this pandemic and its impact on our economy. I believe the Lord put it on our hearts to give that money away. We don’t usually share what we give, but in this case Claire and I agreed to share it and to invite others to join us if they are able.

Here’s our personal plan. When we receive our check, we will give the full amount to the St. Andrew’s COVID-19 Challenge. We will split our gift 50/50 between the COVID-19 Challenge Fund for community needs and the church’s General Fund to help us to meet our 2020 budget. Again, this is our personal plan. I encourage and recommend that others follow our pattern. However, individuals are free to designate their gifts any way they would like and, as always, your giving is confidential.

If you are in the blessed financial position to join us in this plan, please do. You may give directly to the church by mailing your gifts to St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, 115 Paddock Drive, Versailles 40383, Attn: COVID-19 CHALLENGE. On the memo line, please write CV-19 and any percentage distribution you’d like between the Challenge Fund and the General Fund.

Or you can give online under the Give tab. The online form will default to General Offerings. Enter any amount you’d like there. Then click the + ANOTHER FUND button followed by the the drop down menu on the FUND line. Simply scroll down to choose “COVID-19 Challenge.” Enter any amount you’d like there.

Thank you for your commitment to our wonderful community and church family!

Yours in Christ,

David Brannen, Rector
